What’s in the Battlefield 6 open beta?
The Battlefield 6 open beta will contain a sampling of the content from the full game. That means players can expect a selection of maps and modes, but not everything.
For the August 9-10 beta, players can expect to play the Siege of Cairo, Liberation Peak, and Iberian Offensive maps, along with the Conquest, Closed Weapon Conquest, Breakthrough, Domination, and King of the Hill modes, according to Dexerto.
Weekend 2 (August 14-17) will include all the maps from the first weekend, plus Empire State. As for modes, all the Weekend 1 modes are coming back, along with Rush, Squad Deathmatch, and more.
Additionally, Battlefield Studios is testing out a new matchmaking feature and adding more rotating playlists. Check out GameSpot’s more in-depth breakdown of the Weekend 2 beta test to learn more.
Battlefield 6 has a campaign mode, too, along with the rumored return of the Portal mode and a potential battle royale mode. The open beta, however, is only expected to offer up a multiplayer trial.
Battlefield 6 open beta rewards
Everyone who plays the Battlefield 6 open beta can earn plenty of rewards, including everything you see below.
Does progress from the beta carry forward?
Progress from Battlefield 6’s open beta will not carry forward to the full game.
“Progress does not carry over into launch, as changes, new introductions, and balance passes will occur, which would skew such progression and create an unfair advantage. There will be rewards available for participating in the Open Beta, which carry over into Battlefield 6 though!” community manager Kevin Johnson said.
Battlefield 6 is the first new Battlefield game since 2021’s tepidly received Battlefield 2042. A release date hasn’t been announced, but speculation suggests it’s launching on October 10. That’s about a month before Call of Duty: Black Ops 7‘s rumored November 14 release date.
